Sample preparation laboratory
The Non-Destructive Techniques Laboratory has the following equipment for sample preparation.
- Critical point for drying samples Quorum Technologies CPD7501.
Sample requirement. The samples must be immersed in 100% ethanol to be able to enter the Critical Point.
- Sputter Coater EMITECH K550,for coating with Gold.
Sample requirement. Coatings will be billed for coating processes. Six SEM sample holders fit in each process.
We ask users that the samples that are going to be coated by this equipment should be dehydrated and without any moisture. It is recommended that they spend enough time in a desiccator prior to coating to meet this requirement. If it is not available, the laboratory can carry out that process. In order to do it, the samples should be brought previously, before the coating.
- Carbón Coater EMITECH K450, for coating with Graphite.
