Investigación

Mi principal objetivo científico es entender el papel de la diversidad arbórea y su interacción con el cambio global en la dinámica de sistemas forestales. Mi investigación tiene una fuerte aplicación práctica y, por lo tanto, busco establecer métodos de gestión forestal adaptativa para aumentar la resiliencia de los sistemas forestales. Las tres líneas de investigación actuales en las que trabajo son:

 

  • -Impacto del cambio global en la dinámica forestal (crecimiento, mortalidad, regeneración, interacciones inter- e intra-específicas)
  •  
  • -Selvicultura adaptativa al cambio climático (métodos sostenibles de gestión forestal)
  •  
  • -Servicios ecosistémicos forestales y sus sinergias (fijación de carbono, producción primaria, hábitat)

 

My goal is to understand the role of tree diversity and species interactions with global change in forest ecosystems. My research is strongly applied, so I study adaptative forest management methods to increase the forest resilience capacity. The three main research lines I currently conduct are:

 

  • -Global change impact on forest dynamics (growth, mortality, regeneration, inter- and intra-specific tree interactions)
  •  
  • -Adaptative silviculture to climate change (Adaptive Forest Management)
  •  
  • -Forest Ecosystem services synergies with biodiversity (carbon sequestration, primary productivity, quality timber and habitat)
