Investigación
I am currently a research assistant at MNCN-CSIC. I am part of a team with a focus on avian ecology, behaviour and phenology. At the moment, we are working with great and blue tits as ecological models in urban habitats, but we also monitor the reproductive seasons of these birds in the wild. We aim to improve our understanding of the mechanisms affecting juvenile dispersion in urban environments. To do that, we created a network of feeders strategically placed throughout the city that allow us to identify individuals through RFID technology. Parallel to this, we monitor the breeding seasons of isolated populations of blue tits to create a long series comprising data such as individual color, offspring diet, phenology, exploration behaviour... With data collected for decades, we aim to better understand adaptativeness or microevolutionary processes in this species.
